Polls show that Israelis and Palestinians are often more interested in peace with compromise than the leadership is. Arafat ended negotiations, but many Palestinians did not want continued intifada - and dissent is violently suppressed. Hamas never won a majority of people's votes either, and 80% of Gazans wanted peace after the Israeli disengagement in 2005. And polls also show us that Palestinians consider leadership corrupt and would like freer society - who wouldn't?

Internal human rights like voting and freedom of speech equate to more peaceful external relations. Gender equality, universal suffrage, and LGBTQ+ freedom is incompatible with anti-democratic or authoritarian dictatorship.
So if the majority prefers peace to endless war, let's support the majority with a joycott, and help give even people who are on the fence a new, financial reason to get off the fence for free society, peaceful coexistence, and new prosperity.
